Meet Our Student Government
The United Student Association (USA) is the official student government of South Seattle College. This year's officials include students from a wide variety of backgrounds with diverse academic goals.
President Shane Brookman already has USA experience, serving as Vice President last year. Brookman plans on pursuing a career as an engineer. As President, he hopes to build an even stronger sense of community and unity on campus during his term.
Ebsa Buli serves as Vice President. A tri-lingual student, Buli hails from Ethiopia and is working toward a College Transfer Degree that will allow him to continue his studies at any number of four-year schools.
Associate of Arts student Thao Tang (who goes by Lily) is the Community Service Officer. Last year, she served as the Secretary of the Southeast Asian Association on campus. After graduating from South, Tang will continue her studies at a four-year school.
Charles Hill serves as the Issues and Concerns Officer for USA. Currently studying to earn his Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Body and Collision Repair Technology, Hill has remained active since his first quarter on campus as a volunteer. This will be his first quarter as a student body representative.
Business student Amber Jiang serves as the Public Relations Officer. Jiang, who plans on pursuing a career in marketing, is an honor roll student who originally hails from China.
Yishi Qui (who goes by Troy) is an Aviation student serving as the Social Activities Officer. A sports enthusiast, Qui plans on hosting events that embrace South's diverse campus and strengthen its community.
The Treasurer position will be filled by Associate of Science student Sopor Tan, who is originally from Cambodia and has earned a spot on South's Honor Roll. Last year, she volunteered as the Southeast Asian Association Social Outreach Officer.
