South Honors WSECU For Their Support
What was formerly known as the Advising Center has a brand new name, thanks to WSECU (Washington State Employees Credit Union). As of October 23, South Seattle College's Advising Center is known as the WSECU Advising Center. Since 2013, WSECU has made substantial contributions to the South Seattle College Foundation and has been an active supporter of theĀ 13th Year Promise Scholarship.
"The support that WSECU has given over the years has been tremendous," South Seattle College President Gary Oertli said. "Today's dedication ceremony is a small token of our gratitude. They are making a tangible difference in the lives of our students and helping them realize their full potential."
The WSECU Advising Center provides a variety of services for South students from monitoring graduation progress, to transfer degree information and much more.
The partnership between WSECU and the South Seattle College Foundation is more than a sign in the Advising Center; it's a relationship that helps turn educational dreams into careers.
"Regional colleges like South Seattle play a critical role in helping to create shared prosperity in Washington," said Kevin Foster-Keddie, WSECU's President and CEO. "Initiatives like the 13th year Promise Scholarship benefit the whole society; from the student who otherwise would not attend college, to employers who gain skilled future workers, to the greater community that is made better when educated citizens become involved in civic life."
