State and Local COVID-19 Relief Funds for Immigrants

The State of Washington and City of Seattle have both launched COVID-19 relief funds for immigrants ranging from $1000 per individual to $3000 per family. The funds are available to immigrants who are experiencing hard times because of the pandemic and are not eligible for federal financial relief or unemployment insurance.

If you or someone you know could benefit from these opportunities and meet eligibility requirements, you/they are encouraged to apply for both. There are non-profit agencies available to assist with completing the forms, and both applications are available online in multiple languages.

Seattle COVID-19 Disaster Relief Fund for Immigrants (Please note applications are due by Nov. 5, 2020)

  • If you need assistance applying, 20 organizations are available to help applicants over the phone in 41 languages. Learn more here.
  • One of the eligibility requirements is that you either live, go to school or work within Seattle city boundaries. South Seattle College is within city boundaries, so students meet that requirement even if you do not live in Seattle.
