South Celebrates Employees at 2024 Service Awards

South employees who have been with the college for 25 years stand together for a photo with Seattle Colleges Chancellor Rosie Rimando-Chareunsap and an Otter mascot.

Over 77 South Seattle College employees were celebrated for their service to the college community at the 2024 Service Awards on May 23. Awards ranged from 5 to 30 years and, in total, awardees represented 900 years of service to South students, fellow employees, and the communities we support through educational offerings!

Attendees enjoyed food and beverages, a traditional South Seattle College skit involving the soft launch of our brand-new Otter mascot costume in a lip sync battle, and words of celebration from Acting President Sayumi Irey and Seattle Colleges Chancellor Rosie Rimando-Chareunsap. Co-emcees Brie Franks (Director of Human Resources) and Teresa Robinson-Duane (Student Funding Center Director) made sure it was an uplifting and entertaining event.

“Each individual being honored has demonstrated unwavering commitment, enriching our community with their talents and efforts,” Dr. Irey said.  “It is through their tireless dedication and selflessness that we continue to thrive as a community.”
