Every six months, the Northwest Wine Academy at South Seattle College unveils a new collection of student-crafted wines. The Spring 2025 Release will debut on Saturday, June 7, and includes a 2019 Chardonnay, 2020 Chardonnay, 2021 Rosé, and a standout 2022 Malbec, which recently earned a gold medal from the Seattle Wine Awards, the largest and most prestigious wine recognition program in the state.

Join the Northwest Wine Academy on June 7 in its tasting room anytime from 1–6 PM for a festive release event featuring tastings of the new wines and delicious spring-inspired fare from a food truck hosted by South Seattle College’s Culinary & Pastry Arts program.

Located in West Seattle’s Puget Ridge neighborhood, the Northwest Wine Academy is Western Washington’s only working and teaching winery. It serves as both a hands-on learning space for students in the Wine Studies program and a public tasting room, open Thursday through Saturday from 1–6 PM.

Community members are welcome to join the Academy’s Wine Club. Members enjoy exclusive perks, including first access to new releases, priority bottle purchasing, and tasting-room charcuterie pairings. Wine Club members also receive early access to both the fall and spring collections. Interested wine lovers can choose from three membership levels—visit the Northwest Wine Academy tasting room to learn more or sign up online.

As part of its growing community programming, the Academy now hosts monthly jazz and blues open mic nights, with the next event happening Thursday, May 22.

The Northwest Wine Academy is one of several immersive learning environments at South Seattle College, alongside the Arboretum and Garden Center, open Thursday through Saturday, 10 AM – 3 PM, year-round.
