Kathy Vedvick Receives South’s 2016 Outstanding Alumni Award

Kathy Vedvick receives the 2016 Outstanding Alumni Award from South Seattle College President Gary Oertli

Drumroll Please!

The 2016 Outstanding Alumni Award goes to Kathy Vedvick, Director of Human Resources at South Seattle College!

Kathy earned her Associate of Arts degree from South Seattle College in 1983.  She has worked within the Seattle Colleges District for the past 45 years, with most of that time at South. Over the years, Kathy has served on a number of different committees at the College and District level and she has been an incredible ambassador for South in the community.  Just to name a few examples, she has represented the college in the Statewide Human Resources Management Committee, she has served on the White Center Salvation Army Board, and she volunteers every year for their holiday gift drive.  She and her husband Jerry adopt a family in need each holiday season.  Kathy and Jerry have two daughters, Stacy and Kris, and three grandchildren.

Kathy has also been a generous supporter of the South Seattle College Foundation, participating in the employee giving campaign on campus, as well as the annual Gifts from the Earth event.  Each year she helps procure items for the auction, and she invites her family and friends to the event.

Kathy exemplifies what it means to be a South alum by being dedicated to the college, the district and the community.  Kathy received her Outstanding Alum award at the Friends of the College event on May 5, 2016.

Congratulations!
