Inclement Weather Information for October 13, 2016
Based on the latest information from the National Weather Service, the Seattle area may experience significant rainfall and potentially hazardous winds over the next few days. There is a high wind warning in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday evening (Oct. 13) through 7 a.m. Friday morning (Oct. 14). There is also the possibility of a significant storm on Saturday.
At this time, South Seattle College’s campuses and offices (in West Seattle, Georgetown and New Holly) are operating on a normal schedule. However, if the weather appears to impact regular operations and schedules, we will send information to employees and students using Seattle Colleges Alerts/RAVE, the colleges’s emergency alert system, as soon as a decision is made.
Current students are automatically signed up to receive a RAVE email. If you have not signed up to receive emergency notifications or would like to review your preferences, please do so here.
We will also update the news media and provide official information through the South Seattle College website and social media channels. Please note it is possible our website could be impacted by a power outage. In that case, check South’s Facebook or Twitter pages for updated information.
We will NOT send notifications if the weather does not impact our campuses.
As always, please exercise caution when traveling, especially as inclement weather moves into our region.
