Northwest Wine Academy to Celebrate 15th Annual Spring Wine Release May 17-18
South Seattle College’s Northwest Wine Academy (NWWA) will hold their 15th Annual Spring Wine Release from 1 to 7 p.m. on May 17 and 18, with tastings of four new student-produced wines.
In collaboration with the South Seattle College Music Department, this year’s celebration will include multiple small-ensemble performances by music students on both days.
For those participating in the wine tasting, there will be snacks created by students in South’s Culinary Arts Program. There is a $5 fee to participate in the wine tasting for those 21 and over. Children are welcome when supervised by an adult.
Student-produced wines include:
– 2018 Pinot Gris
– 2018 Muller-Thurgau
– 2018 Rosé
– 2017 Blaufränkisch

Tasting Fee and Wine Purchases: There is a $5 per-person fee for anyone participating in the wine tasting, and you must be 21 and over. This year’s release is available for purchase by the case or individual bottle, with discounts available when you purchase by the case.
The Northwest Wine Academy at South Seattle College is the first teaching winery in the Puget Sound region, with classes designed for students who are just getting their start in the wine industry and professionals who need to enhance or update their skills. Taught by veteran wine professionals, the NWWA offers certificate and degree programs in Winemaking, Wine Marketing and Sales, and Food and Wine Pairing. NWWA is supported by the wine community at large: Washington wineries and vineyards, program alumni, international partners and the local West Seattle area.
