Your Chance to Lead: USA Is Hiring 4 Student Officers!

USA Student Government Officers 2025-2026

Are you looking for a way to make a real difference on campus while building your resume, your leadership skills, and your community? United Student Association (USA), South Seattle College's student government, is hiring four officer positions for the 2026-27 school year, and they want you to apply.

The Opportunities

USA is currently looking to fill four officer roles:

Communications Officer: Helps write and post notes from every meeting on bulletin boards, schedules appointments for guests at weekly meetings, and keeps the team organized with calendars and to-do lists.
Treasurer: Manages the USA budget and chairs the Student Fee Board. If you like numbers, spreadsheets, and making financial decisions, this one is for you.
Marketing Officer: Helps the team create social media posts and organizes campus outreach, including posters around campus, tabling, and class visits.
Sustainability Officer: Leads efforts to increase environmental awareness and reduce carbon footprint on campus, including creating Earth Day activities and more.

Each position pays $21.30/hour for 13 hours per week, giving you a flexible way to earn income while gaining hands-on leadership experience that looks great on any resume.

Who They're Looking For

USA is looking for students who are eager to be part of their community, who advocate for those in need, who are excited to make a change, and who are willing to connect with others both in and outside of campus. If that sounds like you, then they want YOU!

No prior student government experience is required. What matters most is your passion, your willingness to show up for your fellow students, and your desire to grow as a leader.

A Message from the incoming President, Melody Losano

Melody Losano, USA's incoming President and last year's Communications Officer, is spearheading this hiring effort. She knows firsthand how transformative these roles can be.

"Being part of USA changed the way I see myself as a leader," said Melody. "I came into my role as Communications Officer without knowing exactly what to expect, and I walked away with confidence, real-world experience, and genuine friendships. These four openings are a chance for new students to find that same growth. Whatever your background, if you care about your community and want to help shape the student experience here at South, I encourage you to apply. We would love to have you on our team."
